Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Ground Beef

  • 7 cloves of Garlic

  • 2 Poblano Peppers

  • 1 Onion

  • 3 tsp Paprika

  • 3 tsp Tomato Paste

  • 2 Tbsp Flour

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • pinch of red pepper flakes

Directions

Cut onion and peppers into a small dice and mince your garlic.

Heat your pan over medium heat and add a little oil, when hot add in your onion and peppers and begin to sweat them down, add in a pinch of salt to aid with cooking them down. When the onions are starting to get translucent add in your garlic. Saute until mostly soft.

Add in your beef and cook until brown. At this point add in your paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to taste. Stir in your tomato paste and cook until the raw tomato flavor is gone, add in your flour and stir till fully incorporated.

Add in your 1 ½ cups chicken stock and stir periodically to avoid burning at the bottom of the pan. Simmer on medium low until thickened to your desire.

When completed, set aside and toast up your hamburger buns. This will not only provide a little crunch, but also will help prevent your buns from soaking in too much liquid and getting soggy. This will allow time for your sloppy joes to cool slightly and set.
